The Road Home's mission:
To help people step out of homelessness
and back into our community.

Accomplishments

The Road Home provided support for thousands of people who were homeless in fiscal year 2006-2007.

The Salt Lake Community Shelter and Self-Sufficiency Center served 2,020 households consisting of 2,328 persons, including 1,361 single men, 344 single women and 108 families consisting of 221 children and 164 adults. A total of 172,687 shelter stays was provided. Average length of stay was 37 days for single women, 38 days for single men, and 101 days for families.

The Community Emergency Winter Housing Program provided shelter to 1,953 single men, 319 single women, and 102 families with 358 family members. A total of 49,897 shelter nights were provided from October 13, 2006 to April 1, 2007.

The Emergency Assistance Office served a total of 3,506 individual clients with 12,459 services including bus passes, birth certificates, clothing and more.

Through our Housing Program, 108 households were placed from homelessness into housing. Overall, the Housing Program served 364 households this fiscal year.
