Candy Cane Corner Gift Giving Ideas
Each Christmas, The Road Home provides Christmas for families living in our shelter, our housing program and at our Community Winter Emergency Housing Shelter in Midvale. Families will "shop" for their families at Candy Cane Corner which is a holiday store our agency and the YWCA sets up during the month of December.
Families sign up for a shopping time with their case manager. Parents go to the store with their case manager (no children allowed), pick out their items and wrap their gifts. All residents are given a pre-itemized voucher before they shop. Once the gifts have been chosen and wrapped they are stored for the family until Christmas Eve at which time they are passed out.
This store exists solely on the generosity of the community. Below is a complete list of items needed for Candy Cane Corner. Before December 7th all items may be dropped off directly at The Road Home. After December 7th, items may be dropped off directly at the Candy Cane Corner store located at 330 East (Blair Street) 400 South.
Adult Women
Clothing:
Sweaters, jeans, shirts, jackets, blouses, shorts, overalls, pants, underwear- bras, nightgowns/pajamas, socks and thermals.
New clothing is needed in sizes 8 to 36 or M, L, LX, 2XL
