Tom and Lacy Richards were living happily in a home with their two kids, when Tom lost his job. Because Lacy still had her job they were successful in maintaining their apartment, however after a few months were unable to keep up with their rent payments with only one income.
The Richards were forced out of their home and onto the couches of friends and family. However, after a while this practice became too much of a burden. Lacy and Tom sent their kids to live with Lacy’s mother, who lives in a small one bedroom apartment, while they lived out of their car, trying to find a way out of this difficult situation.
After they had exhausted all other possibilities, Lacy reached out to The Road Home for some assistance for her and her family. Through working with a case manager Lacy and Tom were able find a program they were qualified for that could assist them in getting back into a home. They found a comfortable two bedroom apartment and were able to be reunited with their children.
The Richards family is now off the streets, living in a stable and safe apartment they can call home.
